Introduction to DIY Wedding Invitations
Why make your own invitations I hear you say.
You will save money from making your own wedding invitations. You can choose to have them printed for you rather than choosing invitations from stationers.
DIY wedding invitations can be fun to prepare and make, with lots of thought and love going into the preparation. In exchange your wedding guest receives a unique invitation.
Generally speaking one invitation per couple, or per family. One invitation for a single guest.
It is best to add another dozen invitations to your numbers to allow for writing errors and guests being asked at the last minute due to other guests not be able to attend .
Wedding Invitations are generally sent out to guests around 6 weeks before the wedding date. Remember to give guests plenty of notice before your wedding date by calling them months in advance so they can pencil your wedding date into their diary. This will hopefully prevent guests booking a holiday on your date.
Some brides and grooms have all day guests who attend the wedding service, meal and evening receptions.
Whilst having a number of guests who only attend the evening reception.
Please make your invitation clear to which part of the day your guests will be attending when you send them their invite. This will hopefully avoid any confusion.
Bride and Grooms today can give their guests a choose in replying to the invitation.
Most guests now a day have internet access and mobile phones. You can choose the best method of reply which suits your guests. Remember you may need to chase family members for replies as they often think it is common knowledge that they are going to attend your wedding, without letting you know in writing.
